MERCADO SAN CRISTOBAL

The project consists of the renovation of an old house located in the historic center of San Cristóbal de las Casas. The intervention reinterprets the original domestic character of the property, introducing a new program that integrates gastronomy, leisure, and landscape. The site is organized into two main volumes separated by lush green areas; the first one houses the main access and a series of commercial premises that open onto a central patio, where different restaurants and cafés converge around shaded terraces.

The second volume extends towards the back of the plot, unfolding around a garden that blends architecture with vegetation, creating a calm atmosphere defined by filtered light, textures, and natural materials. Over time, the project evolves into a boutique hotel, where the existing structures are adapted to host 12 rooms, gastronomic spaces, and intimate courtyards that emphasize the relationship between architecture and nature.
